I am currently in the state of Virginia, but lived in New Mexico at the time of the charge off, and from what I have seen the SOL is 4 years from the state of NM. My thing is, from what I have read, in the state of VA they can only take 25% of my disposable income providing they even get the judgement, but we (I am married and have dual income) are already living paycheck to paycheck, and can't make ends meet, not sure what to do. We own a house in NM that we have tried to get a home equity loan on and have been denied, this is not the only charge off we have, I lost my job after 9/11..what do i do?
