Lawguy is right about finding this stuff online. My wife grew up in a downtown Chicago neighborhood an just loved the house. When she was 16 her parents sold and moved to a far west suburb but, she never forgot the old neighborhood.
A couple of years ago she went online and found all of that stuff on the Cook County website. She traced the history of the home to the construction in 1907. Got a record of all of the owners. Very interesting!
