Hi,
This is follow up from my last posting.
New developement.
Fiance Company in Norfolk, Va. called me, stating that I am to pay this debt. Almost 14 grand. I asked again, when the last payment was. Stated it was: April 4 of '95. I replied: this is way past the SOL.
She replied: NO IT'S NOT. It's 15 years in OHIO!
My question;
He bought the truck in VA. That is where I co-signed.
He moved to OHIO, I moved to Wisconsin. We divorced.
Does not the SOL go by the state in which the vechile and loan agreement was made? How can they state that the SOL goes by OHIO, which is were he is residing?
Can there by some truth to this?
A friend mentioned that if: there is a "Judgement" against him, that it is possible to go by OHIO! If so, why would they not have taken the truck. (repo)
Is there somewhere I can go, to purchase info on my ex (have ss#) to find out if this judegement exsists?
People suggest "Bankruptcy" is my only option at this point.
Can they go by OHIO's SOL?
"loosing my hair again"
