If the original debt had already fallen off your credit report at the 7 year mark, then NO they have no LEGAL right to put anything on your credit report !

OSI/Gulfstate/Sherman Aquisition/Alegis Group (all the same company) are BAD for re-aging. I'd check on your dates and if this has been re-aged, I'd file a complaint with the FTC and a dispute with the credit bureaus ASAP.
