I recently found that I had a judgement By default for a medical bill that was incurred while I was a minor. I was a resident of the state of Florida at the time and the treating institution was in Virginia. It was a medical emergency and the hospital did not obtain permission for treatment from my parent. The hospital did not file the claim nor bill me so that I could file until after the health insurance provider would not pay because it was not timely filed. I was never notified of the impending lawsuit and the judgement was by default. How difficult is it to reopen the judgement under the circumstances and are there any other options to rid my credit report of this catastrophe.
