I just discovered this board and have a question.
Years ago, I had a credit card that I did not pay off. My credit report listed it as “charged off bad debt” or something like that.
The date of last activity was November of 1992. I live in Georgia and lived here when I got the card.
Of course, it has since come off my credit report.
I now have good credit and HAD a FCNB card. But as everyone knows they have gone to the big banking beyond in the sky.
I’m looking for another bank to open a credit card.
Here’s the kicker. I keep getting offers in the mail for an introductory 0% interest offer.
But one of them is from THE SAME BANK THAT CHARGED OFF THE ABOVE DEBT I HAD WITH THEM!?!
So, If I apply and they grant me a card, will they try to put the old charges back on my account? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks… and this is a great board.
