I had the same problem only now the original SEARS has fallen off after 7 years from 12/95 (The charge off date) RMA, on the other hand has last activity 8/96. RMA refuses to remove and claims the info. is accurate. I have credit reports from Equifax (worst to deal with) that show that the original SEARS account was changed to a "a sold collection" from a charge off. This was done in 2000 by ??? I intend to send a final notice to remove with all the back up showing original date of last activity 12/95 charged-off by SEARs. If that doesn't work---how do I file action? Also, any letter would be helpful when I send the evidence in to RMA and Equifax?
