Fraud would be if you had gotten big cash advances, gone on a shopping spree and had already made arrangements to declare BK a few weeks afterward.

Your credit is pretty well shot though. What you do in the future really depends on your job situation.

Just out of curiosity, was part of the job application a release for them to check your credit?,If so, the fact that you were so heavily in debt MIGHT have cost you the job.
