Which brings up the next question. If they are silly enough to send me a summons, who's court would it be in? (I live in Indiana now, the bill supposedly was from when I lived in Illinois). I'd pretty much win from what I've researched (plus get $1k back from them for harassment), but what are the chances of it going bad? I can do the required research and have appeared in front of a judge a few times. I know what to do and what not to do. What has been your experience?
