OC reporting balance each month that was included in BK

I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy with my ex-husband in 1996. One of the original creditors is reporting a balance due each month to both TU and Experian.

The BK was discharged in 7/1996, yet both reports are showing it as charge-off as of 06/1997. Is it correct for them to do this?

Also, Experian is showing it as:
charge-off 6-1997, 8-1997 to 9-1997, 11-1999 to 6-2000, 6-2001 to 2-2003
180 days as of 5-1997, 4-1997
150 days as of 3-1997
120 days as of 2-1997
90 days as of 1-1997

I have disputed this amount several times with both CRAs. What can I do to get this creditor to stop reporting a balance on an account that was discharged? Can I dispute the charge-off reporting? Do I need to contact the OC in order to get them to start reporting this correctly?

Experian states that it is scheduled to stay on record until 1-2004.

By the way, I live in Illinois.

Thanks for any help you can offer,

Ms V
