turned down for secured card?

I have about 5 charge offs approx 6 years old and one 3 years old. These are to credit cards that total about 7k. is it possible i can be turned down for a secured card. If so are there any you can recommend that i would have a good chance of getting. i could easily come up with 5k to put down. any advise? thanks great site!!
