Just wanted to give more info so I can get some help. I am in Texas. The lease was up in Feb 2002. Between then and now I have paid $300 to them although the balance started at $1800. In Nov 2002 I looked at my credit report and it showed this:

Date opened-Jan 1998/reported since Jan 1998
Date of status July 1999/Last reported Mar 2002

Open/Current, as of Dec 2005 scheduled to go to positive status.

Now in Feb 2003 it has changed. And I have been talking with a rep and paying monthly payments since Sep 2003. Basicially I just started sending in payments and they said fine if that is all you can pay. Now this is what my report said this month:

Account charged off. $200 written off, scheduled to continue on record till Dec. 2005
