Florida passed a new lien law in Oct.2001-All judgments filed prior to Oct. 2001 must be refiled before Oct. 30, 2003 or they become void.

If the mortgage title company dealing with you is willing to have the amount that would be due put into escrow, and WITHOUT notifying the lienholder,GMAC,then if they do not refile by Oct.30 2003, their judgment is void and invalid and you could have the escrowed funds returned to you.

If the mortgage company is unwilling to do this, then you should consider postponing your closing until after Oct., or cancelling the sale.

The requirements of refiling are quite strict. I have a link to the new law on the Florida page of my website.
