I have the same exact problem. I sent certified mail today (3rd time) with copy of old reports to Equifax and RMA. Interesting is that RMA may be hiding because the CRA says they are in Duluth, GA, yet the entry on the report says PUR-Paper JAX (I assume Jacksonville). My charge-off was 12/95 from Sears (now gone) and I showed R-9 on my 12/99 report. That was changed to R-5 in 2000 and a second entry by RMA was added showing 8/96 as date of last activity, so I was (at one time) showing two entries for the same account and disputed it,yet RMA reported back to Equifax that it was right! If this doesn't work, we should all file a suit because this is willful misconduct and wrong. Class actions only pay attorneys not poor soles like us. Maybe some of us get together and make an agreement with a law firm.
