The thing you need to think about is the future. What happens should they get a judgment and the years go by and your husband is successful with all assets in his name and something happens? His untimely death or a divorce and you're going to have to accept assets or get a job and run the risk of wage garnishments. I think the lawyer is being straight with you. Work out the cash advance issue with your lawyer and file.
