1 - You can request validation ANY TIME, you are NOT limited to requesting within the 30 days stated in their letters. After that time THEY make the assumption that the debt is valid.. and you know what they say about assuming anything ;)

Are you pushing a lawsuit by asking for validation ? Well, it does happen, but a lot depends on how much you owe and what your financial situation looks like.

SOL means the time frame the have to SUE you to collect a debt. Debts themselves never really expire, they can theoretically try to collect forever, but after the SOL expires, they have no LEGAL enforcement powers to get the money from you.
