Sorry WhyChat, I have to disagree with using debit cards to rent cars. I have personally asked Hertz, National, Enterprise and Budget specifically and they ALL refuse to allow you to rent a car with a debit card, at least for pickup. My fiance traveled a lot for business, and he ran into this problem with most of the rental car places, so what I wrote was not based on conjecture, it was based on fact and personal experience.

The rental car agencies, or the big ones at least, WILL refuse to let you get a car on a debit card, sorry.
