Thanks Trish, I found that too and it just didn't seem to apply to this guys case, that's why I wanted to know if there was anything else involved. No attorneys or reps for the plaintiff showed up for this guy's court date, his case wasn't even on the docket !! The court clerk handed him some paper to sign, which he did, and was later told by a paralegal that by signing that 'right to defend' paper, he admitted to the debt and allows them to get a default judgment. That hardly seems fair, or legal, since the plaintiff NEVER SHOWED !!!
