I prefer NOT to give ANY advice on bad checks. In MY opinion, a bad check is NOT in the same catagory as credit card debt that has been sold to a 3rd party CA for ¢¢ on the $$. Here, you are talking about (usually) a small business or service provider who has been hurt,not a megabuck international cc company. In addition,although the 3 year SOL MIGHT apply in MOST cases in MOST States, many States have different SOLs for different $ amounts of bad checks, depending on if it is over the limit to be considered a felony. PLUS each State has it's own rules on what can be charged as a collection fee. I put the site, (linked below) for people who have check problems to use.
