Not illegal. People do it all of the time. That's what a balance transfer is all about. And, people default on bt's and cash advances. It happens. Any cash advance either 60 or 90 days {forget which} prior to filing bk may be disallowed but after that, no problems. If your lawyer isn't worried, you shouldn't be worried.
