Neighbor problems!

My dear sweet neighbor lost her husband in 95 with Alzheimers. She paid 3400 a month for his care in the local facility. She received a letter yesterday from good old NCO!! The total was over $10000! Two different accounts. She knows one charged off the year he died, and the other she's not sure, but its been at least 4 years, so SOL is past. My mom told her not to worry, I could help. (Thanks, Mom)! Should I just send the standard SOL? She also buried her 60 year old SIL yesterday, so I really want to help out with this one. Patti
