I got a letter today from Camco saying they bought my Citicorp "account" from Fourscore Resource Capital.
Camco says I owe $6472.15, and that I must notify them within 30 days or they will "assume this debt is valid."

If further states "If you request this office in writing within 30 days . . . [they] will

a)obtain verification of the debt or a copy of the judgment . . . ; nd
b) provide me with the name and address of the original creditor . . .

I have a hard copy of Equifax credit history dated 12/06/95 (was for a mortgage) saying I had had a Citibank VISA, date of last activity 10/89. with a balance of $2472. Date Reported: 10/95. CHARGED OFF ACCOUNT.

This "unpaid debt" suddenly appeared on my credit reports and July, 2001, when I was trying to get credit for an automobile purchase. When I disputed it, the credit bureaus supplied them with my current address, and I started receiving letters which I ignored.

So, what do I do now? I'm rather confused by the letters on WhyChat!

Help! I want the OFF my credit report and FAR away from here.
