As Lawguy mentioned, its the bigger complex/property management places that will give you hard time about renting an apt. Most of the places around here (Nashville) run by these 'property mgmt' companies post a notice outside all their rental offices that if you have a history of late-pays, charge-offs, judgments, etc., or a bankruptcy w/in the last 2 years, they WILL NOT rent to you.

1 charge-off may not hurt you that badly, but if you find yourself being turned down at big apt. complexes, its time to start going for the smaller places or rent from private individuals who won't pull your credit report, but may on check references from previous landlords to see how you've paid your rent.
