Sorry to nitpick on this, but a collection, in itself, is never time-barred. Theoretically they can try to COLLECT forever. What is time-barred is them bringing LEGAL ACTION against you to ENFORCE collection of a debt.

Once they lose the ability to sue you to enforce collection, they lose ALL leverage and the CA will go away.. until another one buys it sometime down the road and you have to remind the new slimeball that its time-barred.
