Thank you Why Chat for your response. I am soooo glad I found this web site. Yes my BK filed in 98 was a chapter 13, we made payments on it as long as we could. When it got dismissed, I felt even worse, so I guess I thought I HAD to finish it and do the CH 7 thing. This has been on my mind since 1997. I feel guilty, lol, for having this bad debt. I have not been contacted by any collectors for a couple of years now. That may be due to them not having my current address tho. I do feel much better now after doing more research. The attorneys were also telling me I needed to do a bankruptcy, they never mentioned anything about SOL's or that I had any other obtions except to pay the bills or do a bankruptcy. I asked the secretary about SOL's one time and she said that the debts never expired there wasnt a SOL on them! I was really concerned about the repossessed vehicles, I didnt realize they only had 2 years to collect after being repossessed. I have requested my credit reports and am very anxious to get them to see what is on them. I am prepared to work on "cleaning" them up for any items remaining that is beyond theyre SOL(thanks to my new wealth of knowledge, from this site!!)

I was within 2 weeks of paying an atty and turning over all my income tax refund to file bankruptcy.....and adding 10 more years to my credit reports!!!
