As Patti said, Sherman LIES !!! Their 'deadline' is totally bogus and crap. Their threats and verbal abuse are ILLEGAL under the FDCPA and you could sue them for it ! Do not talk to them, period. In order to do anything like a lien, they have to sue you and win a default judgment FIRST, and you would be served a summons for court - so there would be no magic appearance of any liens, IF they could even place one. Threatening legal action they do not intend to take or cannot legally take is a violation of the FDCPA.

If you have no knowledge of this alleged debt and the bank can't even find anything on it, send these Sherman turds a validation demand letter (section 809 of the FDCPA). You can find excellent info on how to do this at www.creditinfocenter.com and sample letters to use there and on WhyChat's site. They MUST PROVE that the debt is yours or they have to go away and cease collections.

So, ignore them, send the validation demand Certified, RRR and keep track of everything. Once you know they've gotten your letter, they must cease collections - which they won't do and further violate the FDCPA - rack up the violations !!
