Without the settlement in writing they will sell the remaining balance to another CA. Then that CA will place it back on the credit report and start harrassing her again. No writing= no payment. Keep track of all your letter. Send them certified or faxed. Create a paper trail. The OC IS responsible for the actions of the CA if they are notified in writing of said illegal actions.
