validation letter, verizon wireless

hi there, on my credit report there exists a chargeoff from verizon (experian report).. it only shows 3 digits as the acct number... it says opened in 1993.. i dont remember when the last activity is and experian does not show when it will fall off my report... should i send out a validation letter.. i have only found validation letters for collection agencies...supposedly experian has verified this info... heck i cant remember that long ago... any help would be appreciated...
