CC Chargeoff, case open for 3 years?

I just found out according to court record that a CC Collection was send to an Attorney back almost 3 years ago by the OC.. The case was filed 3 years ago at the court civil division at that time and the status now is still open.. didn't see any judgement yet... The CC Debit is 3 years old I have not been notify to summon yet nor there is any additional status on the case.. So is this a common procedure by the OC Attorney? My state SOL is 4 Years, Is the SOL take effect on the day of the filing so it will not work in this case? How long the case be open? Any advice on what might happen in the future and what it mean?
