Get your credit reports, look at your Experian report, see what the "removal" date is on each account. deduct 2 years from that date. If you have passed that date, or are close to it, you are beyond the legal collection time.

If they haven't sued you by now, it is VERY doubtful they will do so, even if you are not beyond SOL.

If you "settle" with any of these accounts, it will apear as a "paid collection" on your report,for 7 years from the "settlement" date, since a settlement is considered a new contract. In addition, the unpaid balance will be sold to another collection agncy, who will ALSO report on your credit reports.

These "re-aging" tactics are not considered legal, and you probably would be able to eventually "dispute" them off.
