I suggest he send letters (crrr) to his creditors, advising them that he is no longer able to pay,and stating he has no assets, and that his income is exempt from any garnishment.

If they are collection agents, (or even not) he can also state that he is in poor health and they are to cease and desist from any and all collection activities, other than by mail.

IF any of the cc accounts he has have a VERY low limit,no annual fee, and moderate interest and is current, he might consider just keeping one, for emergency use.

BK would be a waste of $$.
