Yes, write these scumbags up to every agency recommended in these postings. These are crooks. They'd love it if you'd give them your account numbers. They'd like it even more if you'd give them the account numbers of your friends, neighbors, and relatives.
Why do they do these things? Because they make money at it for little to no effort, preying upon the decency and naivete of the average person.
There's nothing wrong with collection agencies that a ruptured aorta wouldn't fix. These transverse colonic fissures with phone skills are among the world's most gutless criminals. They never face their victim, they only prey when protected somewhat by the 'legal' system. They love to prey upon elderly, women, and the disabled of either sex. Provided of course they can hide out in some boiler room office behind a string of partnerships and LLC's to protect them from the rightful consequences of their predatory antics. Right Hughie? Right Rufie? Reversal of Fortune. It's a great book, good movie. As one familiar with some of the principals, always good to know that fortunes do reverse, usually in favor of the innocent, and against those edematous from a diet rich in grease and avarice.
Get them. Bowdlerize this dessicated dog doot unto dust, blow it from your life. Your better than these pinworms, send them in search of another host. We are on your side always.
