I'm in california I used Briggs & Baker ( i know) they did Accord & Satisfaction to Wachovia Advanta & MBNA. The first two ended up accepting the A & S. Of course MBNA cashed the endorsed check and then sent me to several CA until Wolpoff got to me. Last payment to MBNA was 2-2001. I filed complaints against W&A with the BBB, FTC and CA state attorney general. The BBB contacted W&A and they said they did not violate any rules, but only sent half of my letters to the BBB about my account and a blown up copy of the arbirtration agreement that you can actually read. My question is if I sent MBNA a letter claiming that I was disputing my account then 15 days later sent the stamped check, did they not accept this new agreement? They snuck one by me and I snuck one by them. How long did it take before W&A did anything? Send notices for court etc.? I have not heard anything for well over 5 months. Is this standard procedure for them? Being in California, do I have a leg to stand on against MBNA &/or W&A? And why did the other companies accept the A&S? Thanks
