1) 70% of the bill Collectors make less than $13 per hour. 2) Only 10%-12% of Bill Collectors have a college degree and less than 50% have passed out of high school. 3) The average stint of a Bill Collector with a collection agency in less than 18 months. 4) More than 50% of the Bill Collectors have either bad credit or high debt to earning ratio or both. 5) Bill Collectors are agents of the creditors and have no right to your money. Unless they can prove that they purchased the debt and are within the SOL...ASK THEM TO TAKE A WALK...BETTER YET CARRY ON A CONVERSATION WITH THEM ABOUT IRRELEVANT THINGS..ALL THEIR CALLS ARE TIMED IN THE DIALER AND THE AGENCY IS PAYING FOR IT. 5) Bill Collectors THRIVE on the ignorance of the consumer. 6) Bill Collectors sit and stare at a computer screen and harass people on the phone for 8 hours a day. What a fun job! Now you know why they have such a bad attitude. 7) Lastly, the bill collector you talk to over the phone has no power in the collection agency. The decision to sue or settle is made by senior managers. So, as you can see, this is a sad profession. Imagine the aggravation of having to deal with a educated consumer because of sites like this. Now they are losing their measly bonus and are not meeting their numbers. You can feel only sorry for these poor souls. It is a thankless job!
