Well said! I see they are posting messages to "help" consumers now: http://www.collectionindustry.com/index.cfm?id=8&news_type=1&news_id=9087&pn=1&pg=1 I guess they do hang out on these boards. Consumers are fightng back by learning their rights and exercising them. Consumers are suing for FDCPA violations and winning. Comsumers are educating judges, LOL. They go to court with a copy of the FDCPA, with applicable laws highlighted. No wonder they are coming here and telling you you have no moral fiber, refuse to take responsibility, and whatever other insult they can hurl at you while saying they are not judging - you are making headway, you have their attention. As far as credit card companies suing sooner - that would be a very smart thing for them to do. Unfortunately they make more money by burying the consumer in interest and fees and then charging the debt of to P&L and selling it to a debt purchaser. If they didn't profit by it, they would do it differently. The collectors are the ones who are rattled. I mean where will all this lead? Heavens, they night have to get a real job and talk nicely to people all day. They would have to pay THEIR bills, because if they had bad credit other companies wouldn't hire them - well wait, they could get jobs telemarketing. So, collector-friend what's YOUR FICO score??? I posted mine. :P Linda
