Did you make a copy of the letter sent and retain it for your records? It's best to do this it is also good to reference the certified mail number in the letter then save the return receipt and the payment receipt for the letter. In the letter remind them that it is a direct violation of the FDCPA to contact you after receipt of the letter. If they then contact you by any means you can request an out of court settlement of $1,000 or the erasure of the debt (the preferable choice).
