In my case, as with others, the important secured instruments were discharged first. Things of any value were sold to help pay off credit cards who were kind enough to keep the account open. the remaining cards slime-o-la's just wanted more and more and more.
So as the good doctor sez, you tried to settle when you had something to give. Only a fool turns down sixty percent of something. They pull their usual stunts, cause severe damage to health, make quite a name for themselves amongst those who took their calls when I was unable to personally do so. "Witnessess" is how these kind friends are known today, and they're just waiting for story hour to commence.
So, they turn down something? Well then sez the doc, now for their smartness they get nothing. And that they should count as a blessing.
