I've searched findlaw.com and noticed it went back as far as 1996 :( I've searched and found the case number for Swanson vs. Southern Oregon Credit (869 F.2d 1222, 1225 (9th Cir. 1988))
With it being that old, I don't think anything's going to come up directly. If you do find it, please let me know where because I'd be very interested in reading up on that one myself.
