Since the Troll's post may disappear, I'm making this a separate thread. He may not post again, but I'm sure he won't give up reading the board.

I just wanted to make a few more comments in response to his.

First - I'm NOT LINDA !!

Now.. Mr. Troll - your comments. You said - 'increase your income' - yeah, sounds good. In your mostly shifty industry with super-high employee turnover rates, some of what you said might make sense. In the real-world of PROFESSIONALS, some of your suggestions are not as feasible as you seem to think. You have the typical collector mindset.

"getting a higher paying job, asking for a raise, cut down on IRA/401k contributions, asking for opportunities to earn bonuses/comissions at your main job, working harder, or whatever you think is feasible without dying. "

Get a higher paying job ?? What planet are you living on, dude ?? In any PROFESSIONAL job market, there's only so far anyone is going to be able to go and only certian 'slots' you're going to be able to fit into !! I am already making close the top $$ in my chosen profession - so this suggestion is simply laughable. Not to mention that the JOB MARKET SUCKS !!!! Come to THIS planet ! Same goes for "asking for a raise" - companies are clipping budgets to the bare minimums. These days, in the PROFESSIONAL arena, you don't ASK for a raise, you only pray the budget allows you to GET one !! In MY professional world, raises are based on MERIT and PERFORMANCE and that only comes out of a pool of what's allocated in the department budgets !
Bonuses, commissions, overtime ?? I am a SALARIED employee, there are NO commissions, there is NO OVERTIME and bonuses, while possible only come at year's end and they're only about $100 at best. Again, we don't all work in the kind of world YOU exist in. Working harder ?? I put in 48+ hours a week !!!!! My job isn't 9-5 and I put in whatever it takes to get the job done ! A 2nd job would be nearly impossible to keep since my REAL job hours are erratic. No 3rd rate retail job would let me stay long if you're not there to punch their stupid time clocks.

As for 401Ks - I only WISH I could contribute to one, I can't afford to NOT have the cash in my paycheck ! I HAD an IRA once - it had 12,000 in it to start with. Over the length of the saga I told you, it is GONE ! Used it to keep my house during the first layoff as well as keep my car running and, yes, to pay FREAKING BILL COLLECTORS ! Geez.. typical collector mindset again - you all think we have money hidden somewhere !

"Cut down on certain extras like going out to eat, going to the movies etc. Perhaps you get $35 basic cable instead of the $55 gold package. Cancel the cell phone and the delivered water. I"

EXTRAS ?? What extras ?? I don't go out to eat, I can't afford the expense. My fiance and I go out to eat maybe twice a year - Christmas and New Years - the rest of the time we eat AT HOME and filet mignon is NOT on the menu. Going to the movies ?? I don't think so - they cost too much, we watch movies AT HOME on our CABLE. Cable may be an extravagance to YOU, but when its your ONLY source of entertainment year after year, it STILL costs less than going to the movies. You make it sound like people go to 2,3,4 movies a week !! If I'm lucky, I get to sit in a movie theatre 2 or 3 times A YEAR !

Delivered water ??? Where did that come from ? I get plenty of water - FREE FROM MY KITCHEN FAUCET !! I'm not Buffy from Beverly Hills with a Daisani water cooler in my pool house, pal. Again, you think we're all living in luxury and we're not giving you your 'share'.

Cancel the cell phone ? My cellphone is the LOWEST priced plan I could get, but, screw you, I won't cancel it. As I said in my 3-part post - my mother is in Assisted Living in another state. She's 84 years old, her health is not great, and I need to be reachable AT ALL TIMES, just in case. Cellphones are no longer a luxury item.

My expenses for things are far, far from extravagant. I'm not living high on the hog and just don't want to pay my bills. I make it from paycheck to paycheck with no luxuries and damn little entertainment except the TV. If the payments and settlements that creditors want weren't so totally outrageous and unreasonable, it might be possible, but they don't just want money, they want BLOOD.

Too bad ... they're not getting MINE and they'll only get what I can AFFORD and still live my life in a decent fashion.
