Thanks for the info. The company is Capitol One. They do business out of Richmond. My husband IS the primary on the checking account... (do I need to remove my name altogether?). If I am offered a settlement, will I be able to make payments because (as I told the creditor) I can only afford $15-20/week. I really want to go ahead and pay this but I can't afford a lump settlement. Would it be to my advantage to show up? If so, I can make arrangements (court date is in May).
