Hi,
I have been doing some research on a collection company that has started harassing me about an account that went deliquent in 1993. Just two days ago (4/8/03) they called my home and ask for me, my wife ask to what it pertained and they were rude and said they had to speak to me. My wife once again ask and they proceeded to tell her that I had a old bill from 1993 for the amount of 2300.00. They said if she would settle it right away for 500.00, then they would drop all proceedings. This scared her and she gave them checking information over the phone. She told me about it and I the next morning put a stop payment on the payment. They are now calling my wife at work (don't know how they get our numbers) and harassing her, and her name is not even on the account. I basically want to know if there is a place to go to join a class action suit. I have a letter that I sent them (which I will share with anyone interested).
