I have question on OC's. I have not yet pulled my credit report-or a recent one that is.

My hubby and I have several credit cards that should have already been charged off. Last date of normal payment was back in 6/02. We started cccs then quit it after one payment. When I found this board and a few others.

We are still getting bills (email bills) that state that are payment is due or over due or that we are over our credit limit etc. Some of the hard copy bills that we get via the mail they are still charging late fees interest and over the limit fees.

If they are suppose to charge off accounts after 180 days, which is far past that time frame then can they still charge us with all these fees?

Naturally I am keeping all of these bills and emails for a paper trail.

Our thinking is that if we could get sued and they are continuing to add these fees and tripling the original amts due at the 180 day mark and then at the 1yr and 3yr mark; they turn a $800 debt into $5000+++. Is this legal?? Are they not violating the FDCPA or the FTC?

Your insight and expertise is greatly apreciated!!!
