First of all, I would like to thank the valued contributers to this Forum - the consumers who are using it as intended, to exchange information and education from consumers, for consumers, from a consumer-friendly point of view. Many of you have seen that this forum has been the target of troll attacks, some of which appear to be from professional debt collectors. Today, I have also received an email threat from National Check Control, threatening to sue me for libel, harassment, tortious interference with contract, and even, "intentional infliction of emotional distress." (Are they *sure* they want to sue somebody in a "foreign" [non-US] country?) It seems that this forum has attracted the attention of NCC, and possibly other collection agencies. So, anyway, my suggestion for the posters here is to try to restrain yourselves, and tone it down a bit. Also, just as importantly, Please Don't Feed The Trolls! And to those trolls: Please note the set of numbers (e.g. "24.193.122.32") after your name. That is your IP address, which identifies your Internet Service Provider (ISP.) That IP address, along with the time-stamp, can be used by your provider to identify you personally. I have saved examples (including indentifying info) of today's flood attempt, and will be sending complaints to your ISP(s) this evening (e.g. the person using RoadRunner in New York, and the person in New Jersey.) As of now, ALL net/abuse, including spam, profanity, and flood-attempts, WILL be reported to the offender's Internet Service Provider.
