Absolutely do not contact the attorneys. They'll just jerk you around.
You need to answer your summons and deny all claims, citing the run SOL as your defense.
You really should pay the debt if you're able at all. This will just prevent you from having a judgment placed against you so that you'll repay on THEIR terms.
