I would suggest you do nothing.
Most likely your entry into CCC caused a "freeze" on the account, and their computer system just kept recycling the data as if it was a current account. Once you have gone beyond SOL, counting from your FIRST "late notice" or "past due extra charges". You can see about clearing up the confusion. Is it showing on your credit reports?
