WhyChat,

I'm gonna sue a CRA very soon; however, I'm waiting to take such action out of fear they may pull my reports offline which could jeopardize my mortgage process (I'm moving to another state).

My question to you is: Eventhough the violations I will base my suit on has occured here in my present state, can I sue them in the new state I'm moving to for these violations since I plan on using Federal Court as the forum?

I'm basing this assumption on
1) The CRA's do business in all 50 states
2) They are in violation of Federal law (so I'm hoping I can sue any Federal Court)
3)The FCRA does mention "any court of competent jurisdiction" but I'm sure that's subjected to the Civil Procedure Rules.

I have a bad feeling that I have to sue where the cause of action had occured just like any other state/small claims matter.

Worse comes to worse, it's easy to get the CRA to recommit these violations in the new state so I'm not that concerned about this dilemma. Please comment
