Medical collection accounts have a different reporting system than other debts. The OC health care provider is prohibited from reporting a delinquent account to the CRA's, so the "open" date on your report is the date the CA first reported the account. The "reported from" date is the date of service, (and the start of the 7 year reporting SOL). Unlike other credit tyoe accounts, technically the date of service IS the due date, so if it is NOT paid immediately, it is delinquent immediately. Personally speaking, I prefer to advise people to pay their medical health provider bills, (if they are CORRECT) directly to the OC. There is a form letter on my website that will allow you to do that and bypass the CA, (if the instructions are followed EXACTLY)
