Assuming your debts are chargedoff, look at the chargeoff date and then subtract 180 days. That is when you first defaulted.
Over time, negative stuff has less affect. I've seen some people post that their scores actually rose when a collection account hit the 2 year mark.
The big thing is, get some positve trade lines going for you as well.
