Again - OSI = Gulf State = Sherman Aquisition = Alegis Group = Northland Group.. etc. etc. , 20 other DBA's. All the same company .. ALL BAD ! If you send these bozo's a complete cease and desist, they may sue you. Make them stop all PHONE contact, restrict them to mail only. However, since they DO have your location information and your phone numbers, its ILLEGAL for them to be harrassing your mother in another state. SHE needs to send them a total Cease and Desist - and send it certified, RRR. They are violating the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) left and right with their abuse and the calls to other parties. I'd bring that to their attention in your letter, state the violation and make it clear that all PHONE contact is to stop, they are to communicate by MAIL ONLY. READ THE FDCPA - you need to learn your rights and their restrictions in collecting. You can find the FDCPA at www.ftc.gov under Consumer Protection, then under Credit.
