I own my home outright and want to take out a home equity loan to finance the construction of a new house. The loan will not be converted into a mortgage so there's no need for the bank to worry about secondary mortgage requirments. I have 2 charge-offs that are due to come off 7-03 and 12-03. My score is now above 700 and I have a stable job. Do you think I'll be able to get the loan or will the bank want the charge-offs paid?
